These terms are an agreement between you and Rivaesa about playing the game. By playing Rivaesa, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the game.

Your character and saves

Rivaesa has no account system today. Your characters and saves live locally in your browser, on your own device, and it is your responsibility to keep that device and browser data safe. If you play online, an optional random id generated on your device stands in for an account, see the Privacy Policy for what that shares with other players.

Playing fairly

Rivaesa is meant to be enjoyed. You agree not to cheat, exploit bugs for unfair gain, use unauthorized third party software, disrupt other players, harass anyone, or attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to our systems. We may block accounts or ids that break these rules from optional online features.

Free to play, no billing today

Rivaesa is currently free to play. There is no subscription or in game purchase on rivaesa.com at this time. If a paid purchase is introduced in the future, these terms will be updated first, the terms of that purchase will be described clearly before you are asked to pay, and any such purchase would be for things like cosmetics or supporting development, never gameplay power or a combat advantage.

Virtual items

Any in game currency, cosmetics, or other virtual items have no real world value, cannot be exchanged for money, and are for use inside the game rather than owned by you. We may adjust, add, or remove virtual items as the game evolves.

Our content

The game, its art, its world, its code, and its name belong to Rivaesa. You may play and enjoy the game, but you may not copy, resell, reverse engineer, or redistribute it except as the law allows.

The game may change

Rivaesa is a living game in active development, made by one person. Features may be added, changed, or removed, and the game may be unavailable at times for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We aim to keep disruption to a minimum.

No warranty and limits

The game is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or incidental losses arising from your use of the game. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under the law of your country.

Ending access

You may stop playing at any time simply by closing the game. Since your saves live in your own browser, they remain there until you clear them yourself, we have no account of yours to close. We may block a device id from optional online features if it breaks these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the game grows. When we make a meaningful change, we will update the date above. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated terms.
